Road Construction

FOREMAN SPECIALIZED IN ROAD CONSTRUCTION WORK

We are currently seeking to recruit a Foreman for our road construction work all over Cyprus.

Main Responsibilities

  • Work with superintendents and project managers to ensure that assigned projects remain on time and on budget
  • Organize and coordinate the daily activities of assigned crew and equipment pertaining to scope of work, including delegation of tasks, and holding subcontractors accountable
  • Direct equipment operators to facilitate alignment and movement of materials
  • Coordinate the supply of materials for assigned projects, ensuring timely delivery of materials to project site
  • Perform skilled work related to specialty area(s) of assigned position, including but not limited to concrete finishing, utility installation, grading/site preparation, paving, etc.
  • Ensure equipment maintenance inspections are completed to maintain equipment in safe operating condition
  • Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety plan, and encourage all employees, sub-contractors and consultants to adopt safe practices
  • Complete timecards and review costs/productions on a daily basis

Minimum Qualifications / Skills / Professional Experience

  • At least 5 years of professional experience working in specialized construction field and/or related industry
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in a supervisory role
  • Professional driving or/and heavy equipment licences will be considered as an advantage
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Be able to work outdoors in potentially remote, wilderness or construction settings

ERGASTIRIAKOS

LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

We are currently seeking to recruit a Laboratory Technician for our quality control lab at Geri, Nicosia.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct construction materials testing (soil, concrete, asphalt)
  • Cares for samples and completes all forms required for delivery to the Materials Lab and assists the lab in the identification of soil and rock composition and specific lab testing
  • Analyses and plots all survey, engineering, geological and laboratory data while utilizing computer drafting and geotechnical software
  • Assist with and ensure data quality assurance/quality control
  • Conduct geologic observation during contractor operations including sampling, preparation of geologic boring logs that include soil descriptions and relevant geologic/engineering data

Minimum Qualifications / Skills / Professional Experience

  • Academic background in Geological Engineering or in a related field
  • Professional experience in a related position will be considered as an advantage
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both Greek and English, active listening is required
  • Microsoft Office product proficiency i.e. Excel
  • Collect reliable and accurate data
  • Be able to work outdoors in potentially remote, wilderness or construction settings

ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT

ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT

We are currently seeking to recruit an Accounting Assistant for our main offices at Cyfield Tower, 132 Limassol Av, in Nicosia.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the project accounting team with preparing invoices; including required documentation such as expense receipts as needed
  • Deal with cost transfer entries, project filing
  • Assist in all aspects of accounts payable
  • Review waybills and gather necessary back-up documentation to match with invoices
  • Track payment status when necessary and post bills and invoices
  • Update master records with billing information
  • Assist office, when required, with distributing mail; preparation of deliveries; answering phones; ordering supplies

Minimum Qualifications / Skills / Professional Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or any other related field or/and university program certificate i.e. LCCI Higher level
  • At least five (5) years related experience in a similar position in the construction industry
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both Greek and English, active listening is required
  • Ability to handle numerical information with accuracy, proficient computer skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to perform under pressure
  • Must be able to work with a team and assume additional tasks as needed

PEC - Power Energy Cyprus

Project

Power Energy Cyprus (PEC) with consideration to the increasing energy consumption demand and to the planned electricity market liberalization, has acquired all the necessary permits and begun construction of a state-of-the-art Combined Cycle Power Plant in Mari Area, Limassol, Cyprus. The Power Station is anticipated to be in full operation by summer 2021 and is projected to be in line with the arrival of LNG on the island. Mari Power plant will use the latest technology in power generation. It will be a gas fired combined cycle power plant but will also be operated with diesel if necessary. The 260 MW Power Station will contribute to the reduction of electricity cost for end-users and will serve the Group plan for becoming a leading Energy Supplier in the Island.

Senior Procurement Engineer

SENIOR PROCUREMENT ENGINEER

PEC and Cyfield, are seeking qualified candidates for the position of Senior Procurement Engineer. The successful candidate will report to the Project Director and will be part of the Project Management Team. This is a staff position based in Nicosia for the engineering phase. Visits to site at Mari Limassol will be required.

Potential long term management position during Operation and Maintenance Phase.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the project teams, understanding project procurement requirements while helping with the sourcing and procurement of both goods and services to meet expectations
  • Maintain the project supplier commitment records
  • Raise purchase requisitions and administer both purchase orders and amendments to ensure timely achievement of project objectives
  • Prepare requests for quotations to suppliers, meeting the requirements and demands of the business and projects
  • Raise goods received notes, dispatching documentation and goods
  • Process supplier invoices, ensuring deliverables have been met and an appropriate budget holder sign-off is obtained within a timely manner
  • Keep in regular contact with both suppliers and vendors to resolve any order or delivery issues
  • Maintain and ensure all approved supplier approval documentation is up to date at all times

Education and Qualifications:

  • MS in Mechanical Engineering with solid Energy Projects experience
  • Extensive project execution experience (12 years), preferable including engineering, construction and commissioning in the Energy industry
  • Previous Experience as Senior Procurement Engineer for at least three similar projects

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of electrical and I&C disciplines.
  • Knowledge of logistic/customs procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – able to convey complex technical information in concise, accessible language to senior executives.
  • Ability to travel

Senior QA/QC Coordinator

SENIOR QA/QC COORDINATOR

PEC and Cyfield, are seeking qualified candidates for the position of Senior QA/QC Coordinator. The successful candidate will report to the Project Director and will be part of the Project Management Team. This is a staff position based in Nicosia for the engineering phase. Relocation to Mari, Limassol will be required for Erection phase.

Potential long term management position during Operation and Maintenance Phase.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overall QA/QC Coordination of all parties (Owners Engineer, OEM, Vendors, Third parties)
  • Attend FATs from Owner side
  • Maintain and implement the quality plan and the subsequent Inspection Test Plan and QA/QC procedures
  • Review of contracts to identify any special quality requirements and advise appropriate departments
  • Planning and guidance of all QA/QC personnel and contractors
  • Stimulate quality awareness and implications with all employees and contractors
  • Continuous Review of the quality plan and make adjustments as required
  • Excellent knowledge of applicable standards
  • Responsible for QA/QC overall coordination of all parties at site, during erection phase. Ensure that all construction activities are completed in accordance with applicable codes. Perform field inspections and review NDT reports

Education and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in the Energy industry including 5 years at a senior coordinator level
  • Mechanical or Welding engineering degree
  • Holder of valid Welding / NDT certificates (NDT level 2 minimum required)

Requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge of welding procedures of all type of material, especially low alloys
  • Experience in electrical and civil works inspections, painting works as well
  • Other inspection certifications desirable
  • International exposure and ability to interact with a multi-national and multi-cultural team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills – able to convey complex technical information in concise, accessible language to senior executives.
  • Ability to travel and participate in monthly meetings and milestones achievement confirmation

  • Responsible for overall Engineering Coordination, including the flow of all documentation and information required from all parties to be routed to the Owners Engineer, a global engineering company with extensive experience in Power Plants Engineering, Design and Consultancy.
  • Liaise and coordinate with Project OEM, the world’s leading company in respective equipment supply and services.
  • Ensure engineering compliance with applicable industry and international/local standards as well as incorporation of lessons learned and best practices into the design
  • Provide technical support during all execution phases
  • Assist the Procurement and Quality Department
  • Being involved to commissioning and start-up of the Plant and associated facilities
  • Communicate key risks, issues and concerns to management

Education and Qualifications:

  • MS in Mechanical Engineering with solid Energy Projects experience
  • Extensive project execution experience (15 years), preferable including engineering, construction and commissioning in the Energy industry
